High Tech Factory
High Tech Factory is a shared microtechnology production facility, located on the green campus of the University of Twente. Companies can rent cleanroom and lab facilities and furnish it according to their needs.
Micronit rents 300 m2 of cleanroom space, used for prototyping and production of microfluidic components. The cleanroom is equipped by Micronit with all kinds of micromachining equipment such as wet etching baths, mask aligners, cleaning equipment, annealing furnaces, dicing and scribing machines, lasers, and metrology tools.
The NanoLab facilities, located on the campus of the University of Twente, are part of the MESA+ research institute. MESA+ is one of the world’s largest nanotechnology research institutes; and it’s the largest research institute in this field in the Netherlands. A total of 525 researchers work together on cutting-edge research at the highest level. MESA+ NanoLab has extensive laboratory facilities at its disposal:
- a 1250 m2 fully equipped cleanroom, with a focus on microsystems technology, nanotechnology, CMOS and materials and process engineering;
- a fully equipped central materials analysis laboratory
- a number of specialized laboratories for chemical synthesis and analysis,
materials research and analysis, and device characterization.
MESA+ NanoLab plays a central part in collaborations with industry. MESA+ has a strong relationship with industry, both through joint research projects with the larger multinational companies, and through a cooperation policy focused on small and medium- sized enterprises.
Micronit makes use of NanoLab equipment for non-daily tasks, e.g. working with silicon or specialistic material analysis.
Office, microfluidics lab, and powderblasting facility
Adjacent to the campus, on the Business and Science Park, Micronit has its office space. In this building a microfluidics lab is situated with room for microfluidic experiments and product development. Next to the office building is the powderblasting facility.
