Ronny van 't Oever hands over leadership to Paul Schipper as new CEO of Micronit

Enschede, June 17, 2024 - After a quarter-century of steering Micronit, CEO and founder Ronny van 't Oever is transferring his CEO duties to Paul Schipper. "I am pleased with Paul behind the wheel as our new CEO, I have full confidence that he will continue to drive Micronit forward," said Van 't Oever. Schipper adds, "The strong foundation that Van 't Oever has laid as founder motivates me to further develop Micronit as a leading player in microfluidics." Ronny van ‘t Oever will remain involved with Micronit as Chief Strategy Officer.
A symbolic transition
In a fitting and symbolic gesture, Ronny van 't Oever, a passionate sailor, presented a ship's wheel to Paul Schipper – whose last name appropriately means 'skipper' in Dutch – representing the transfer of Micronit's leadership. “I look to the future with confidence with Schipper as the new CEO” said van ‘t Oever. Paul Schipper expressed his gratitude and vision for the future: "Ronny's foundational work as the founder of Micronit provides an exceptional platform for further innovation and excellence in the microfluidics industry. I am excited to lead Micronit into its next chapter of growth and development." Despite stepping down from the CEO role, Van 't Oever will remain involved with the company as Chief Strategy Officer and major shareholder. "We are incredibly grateful to Ronny for his invaluable contributions and leadership over the past decades,” said Schipper. “His passion and vision have been instrumental in shaping Micronit it is today.”

Under Van 't Oever's leadership, Micronit has grown over 25 years from a spin-off of the University of Twente into a leading company in microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip technology. Since its founding in 1999, the company has specialized in designing and producing advanced microfluidic solutions that contribute to advancements in healthcare and biotechnology. With a strong focus on quality and innovation, Micronit works now with customers worldwide as a development and manufacturing partner of microfluidics-based products.
