Product development

Micronit develops and manufactures lab-on-a-chip products in close cooperation with customers. In the last 10 years this has led to several successful market introductions in applications such as DNA sequencing and point-of-care.

Thanks to our microfluidics know-how we can support instrument manufacturers with their product development. By working in close cooperation with our customers time to market can be drastically reduced and the product will be designed for manufacturing. Our experience in microfluidics and micromachining enables us to optimize the chip not only in functionality, but also in production cost. In this way, the product can provide you with the highest return on investment.

Most developments pass through a series of stages, from idea to high-volume manufacturing. For every stage we provide the required service.

IDEA

Our team of engineers is a mixed team of designers, physicists, chemists and biologists. This mixed background enables us to transform our customers idea into a functional lab-on-a-chip product.

DESIGN AND SIMULATION

After a thorough review of all requirements, possibilities and limitations, Micronit will make a design of a device, sometimes preceded by a feasibility study. We have the tools and know-how to simulate your microfluidics process with the device we have in mind and to adapt the design if necessary.

RAPID PROTOTYPING

Micronit offers a platform for rapid engineering of prototypes for appropriate applications. Together with our customer, we will evaluate the device and if necessary we will do a redesign and restart the prototyping phase.

HIGH-VOLUME MANUFACTURING

When a functional prototype has been developed, Micronit can manufacture the device in high volumes. Our cleanroom facilities have the capacity to fabricate large batches of microfluidic chips.
